Antigua is the largest of the Leeward Islands which are English speaking. The island is around 14 miles long and 11 miles wide, with the high point being Boggy peak. Every year Antigua has its annual carnival that stretches on for well over a week. This is a fun time for all with people dressed up in colourful costumes and with plenty of activities to join in from beauty pageants through to talent shows. You will hear the drumming of the steel bands and experience the hustle and bustle of this great event. The smell of tradional food fills the air and local traders are out selling all sorts of local arts and crafts.
